MEET LOGAN
Logan Schultz was fourteen years old when he agreed to co-author a children’s book celebrating his experience as the sibling to Layni, his sister with Down Syndrome. Layni’s special needs have shaped him in many ways. At an early age, he became very aware of how different they were. Learning to accept and embrace their individual qualities came as he matured, a process that accelerated when he lived through Layni’s battle with cancer. A high school student today, Logan excels in academics, competes in piano adjudications, is a sports enthusiast (go Seahawks!) and shares a love of travel and food adventures with his family. His parents’ gifts of a strong work ethic and love of music are things he will carry into college and beyond.

THE SAME GAME
Join Auntie Rae, Emme, and Ryder on play date adventures as they go to restaurants, explore food trucks, and play in a park. In every scenario, Auntie engages the two kids in conversations about diversity and inclusion through a game — The Different But the Same Game. This series — Tabletop Fun, Curious Cuisines, and She’s Just Like You…She’s Just Like Me — encourages kids to recognize that while many things (and people) may seem different, there is so much that makes them the same. By identifying the same-ness, the scary or unusual is demystified and space is made to embrace what connects us.

Join Auntie Rae, Emme, and Ryder at lunch and engaging in a conversation about diversity and inclusion…in a game. The Different But the Same Game began over a chat about how the things around us can seem different but all have something in common. By encouraging the kids to recognize what makes things the same, Auntie Rae demystifies the scary or unusual and creates space for ways to embrace what connects us.

By focusing on what children can do the door to inclusion opens, we connect, and together the fun grows!
